Overview
Waking in a twisting research facility deep beneath the ocean as a lone survivor, you must find your escape. A 2D metroidvania-lite platformer made in 72 hours for MiniJam #159, which had two requirements:
-
Theme: Ocean
-
Limitation: As Small As Possible

What resulted was a dark platformer with growth and shrink mechanics to navigate the winding corridors.
Gameplay
What I Did
-
Designed and executed core game mechanics and flow
-
Programmed gameplay in Godot using GScript and the Dialogic plugin, including
-
Player movement
-
Player shrinking and growth
-
Item pickup & tracking
-
-
Level design with a focus on making the most out of the movement system, and its interplay with growth and shrinkage. Vent spaces and small openings were placed in careful locations to give the player visual indication on ways to progress, and clues to the next steps.
-
Wrote the game's narrative using dialogue and in-game 'lore documents' in the form of terminals the player could interact with and read
-
Created all assets, including the player character sprite, level tilesets, animations, and all additional details
