Overview

A commissioned project for a currently unannounced 3D platforming game in development, where I was tasked with designing and creating the blockouts for three diverse levels. Covering the game's first level with a focus on teaching player mechanics, to later levels with an emphasis on testing player ability, with direction focusing on semi-linear pathing, leaving potential for speedrunnning optimisations as part of the intended target demographic.

What I Did

  • Designed level from sketch to blockout

  • Created digital overview map for feedback and iteration

  • Produced blockout in Unity 3D engine, using terrain tools and primitive objects

  • Altered design and blockout with speed as feedback was received, and playtesting revealed areas for improvment and alterations
